Our Mission
The Longhorn Engineering Advisory Delegation (LEAD) enhances the student experience at the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
We are recent alumni who engage with administrators, faculty, staff, and students to understand issues, make recommendations and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Our pipeline of leaders will help the Cockrell School of Engineering remain in the top engineering schools worldwide while meeting evolving needs.

Genesis
Genesis brings students and alumni together to live out UT Austin’s mission statement: what starts here changes the world. Built on a proven Venture Capital model, alumni and students work side by side in a powerful, hands on partnership to find deals, conduct due diligence, and invest real money in real startups founded by their peers.

LEAD the Way
LEAD the Way provides second year Cockrell School engineering students participating in the Ramshorn Scholars Program an in-industry mentor. These mentors provide professional guidance, career advice and perspective on their own journey from student to working professional.

LEAD Connects
LEAD Connects is working to strengthen the connections between the Cockrell School and the local and regional K12 schools that have engineering curriculum and/or competition-based engineering programs (e.g., FIRST Robotics).

Outside the Box - Alternative Career Paths
LEAD is working with the Student Engineering Council and the Roden Leadership Program to show students how their engineering degree will open a multitude of doors beyond engineering, leading to fulfilling and varied careers. Learn more and get involved by reaching out to Zach Ullah and Emily Chen.
International Student Scholarship Fund
The International Student Scholarship is responsible for enhancing the experience for international students while on campus. This fund was created after investigating the different and specific challenges faced by international students and creating opportunities to improve their experience.
